About the Arm Lift
If you’ve lost a lot of weight and have been left with excess skin that has lost its elasticity, you’re not alone. Often times, exercising can help strengthen and improve the overall muscle tone, but it can’t do much for skin that has lost elasticity and underlying weakened tissue.
If the underside of your upper arms are sagging, droopy or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat, an arm lift may be right for you. The arm lift procedure helps reduce excess skin and the fat between the underarm and the elbow. The result is smoother skin and a more toned and proportionate overall appearance. This is a dramatic procedure in which the results are visible immediately after surgery and even more once swelling subsides.
What is an arm lift?
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow.

About the Procedure
Incision length and pattern depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed, but generally it’s placed on the inside of the underarm to just above the elbow. If fat is to be reduced during your arm lift, Dr Javaheri will excise it or treat with liposuction. The incisions are closed with absorbable sutures that will be removed 1-2 weeks following your surgery. The results of arm lift procedure are immediate, both in appearance and by touch, even with post surgery swelling.
An arm lift procedure can be a very rewarding procedure, especially for patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgery and suffer from folds of skin, rashes, skin irritation as a result of excess skin.
